Home Minister Amit Shah outlines India's future focused on "Vikasit Bharat" agenda, emphasizing stakeholder engagement and social progress

As we navigate through the complexities of the 21st century, it becomes increasingly evident that India’s trajectory is not bound by limitations, but rather defined by boundless opportunities.

At the ET Now Global Business Summit 2024, the stage was set for a transformative dialogue as Shri Amit Shah, the Honourable Home Minister of the Government of India, shared his vision for unlocking India’s unlimited potential.

As the summit unfolded, it became evident that the seeds of progress sown by Shri Amit Shah’s insights would continue to shape India’s journey towards unparalleled growth and prosperity.

Amit Shah delivered a compelling statement outlining the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) visionary agenda for the upcoming elections. He said, “For the first time in free India, this would be the first election which will be fought on the agenda of Viksit Bharat@2047. I believe, in our 3rd term, we will be able to do a lot more as part of the agenda.”

He further added, “BJP has its ideology and agenda in the right place. People join and people leave, and it is natural. I believe in family planning, but in politics, it is always about the more the merrier.”

He also clarified the government’s commitments and policies to fostering open and constructive dialogue with all stakeholders to address prevailing issues in the country is evident in its clear policy stance.

Emphasizing the importance of engaging with various stakeholders, the government aims to create a platform for robust discussions that lead to effective resolutions. One notable area of focus in these discussions is the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), acknowledged as a topic of significant social change. By addressing legal and social disparities, the UCC is positioned as a measure that contributes to broader societal welfare.

The mention of the UCC in the discourse reflects the government’s commitment whereas he also reveals about CAA, a new law to be implemented before elections. He said, “CAA is one of the country’s laws and it will be implemented before the election this year. CAA does not aim at snatching away one’s citizenship as there are no provisions for the same within the law. It is about providing identity in the form of citizenship to those who have moved to India over the years.”

In conclusion, the speaker stressed the essential role of elections in democracy. They highlighted the upcoming election as an opportunity for people to endorse the government’s current achievements and expressed a commitment to even greater progress in the coming decade.
