Haryana CM outlines state’s progressive digital public affairs vision at ET Now GBS 2024

Manohar Lal emphasises transparency, farmer empowerment, and economic growth strategies for Haryana's unique development model

In his address at the ET Now Global Business Summit 2024, Manohar Lal, Chief Minister of Haryana, discussed the state’s aspirations to forge a unique development model. Emphasising transparency as fundamental to governance, Haryana is actively pursuing digitization to propel its development agenda.

One notable initiative highlighted by the Chief Minister is the ‘Meri Fasal Mera Byora’ portal, designed to simplify the lives of farmers by facilitating easier access to agricultural information and support.

Regarding the state’s development model, the Chief Minister outlined efforts to combat corruption, crime, and caste-based politics, focusing instead on a merit-based approach. The introduction of the “Meri Fasal Mera Byora” portal exemplifies this commitment, streamlining processes for farmers and ensuring fair compensation for losses.

Beyond agriculture, Haryana aims to empower its citizens through initiatives like the Parivar Pehchan Patra scheme, fostering self-reliance and inclusive development. Despite representing only 2 percent of the total population, the state aims to double its contribution to the nation’s GDP by 2027, setting a high standard for progress.

Currently ranked third nationally for Ease of Doing Business, Haryana is actively fostering international collaborations, such as the recent joint seminar with 50 Japanese companies, to bolster industrial growth and economic prosperity.
