Booking flight tickets made easy by Paytm after the partnership with Amadeus, a travel tech firm

Paytm aims to enhance its search, booking, and payment processes by integrating Amadeus's travel platform for increased automation and distribution capabilities.

One97 Communications Limited (OCL), the parent company of the Paytm brand, has unveiled a strategic alliance with the global travel technology firm, Amadeus. Over the next three years, Paytm will integrate Amadeus’s comprehensive travel platform, aiming to elevate the overall traveller experience, spanning from search and booking to the final payment stage. This collaboration leverages Paytm’s substantial user base alongside Amadeus’s proficiency to deliver a smoother and more efficient booking experience for travellers.

“Paytm is one of the leading online travel aggregators in the country and this partnership with Amadeus will further solidify its position as the premier travel provider in India. Leveraging Amadeus’ advanced automation and New Distribution Capability (NDC) technologies will enable Paytm to secure precise results and establish a consistent and robust travel shopping ecosystem. With Artificial Intelligence-powered capabilities, Paytm will deliver hyper-personalised recommendations and dynamic pricing to offer a world-class experience to its users powered by Amadeus,” as mentioned in the Amadeus statement.

Furthermore, Paytm users will gain access to an array of global flight options through Amadeus’ API, allowing for the seamless discovery and booking of deals directly within the Paytm app. The partnership extends to providing users with an extensive range of travel content, encompassing global distribution systems, low-cost carriers, and hotel accommodations.

In a strategic move, the collaboration with Amadeus positions Paytm to offer a unified Passenger Name Record (PNR) solution in collaboration with Indian carriers. This initiative aligns with Paytm’s overarching vision to elevate customer experiences and streamline travel operations. The integration also broadens payment options for travellers, encompassing Unified Payments Interface (UPI), Paytm Wallet, and Postpaid services.

In a press release by Amadeus, Ramona Bohwongprasert, Senior Vice President-India Subcontinent & Southeast Asia, said, “At Amadeus, we understand that in today’s ever-changing landscape, travellers expect more than just technological solutions; they demand reliable access to travel systems and simplified processes like ticketing and rebooking. In a world where disruptions can impact travellers at any moment, maintaining consistent and reliable access to these systems is paramount. Our deep understanding of these unique requirements has led us to collaborate with Paytm and provide them with next-generation, industry-specific, and fully integrated solutions. These solutions are designed to address their operational needs, instil confidence in travellers, and empower them to expand their businesses across geographies.”

The report also stated a statement made by the Chief Business Officer of Paytm Travel, “As India’s leading travel platform, we have been constantly bringing innovations to ensure the best travel experience for our users. Our brand reach and simplified product has empowered users with best travel solutions. The synergy between Paytm and Amadeus aligns perfectly with our vision to further upgrade the customer experience. It will automate travel operations for users by enhancing efficiency and scalability by leveraging cutting-edge technology.”

Leveraging the Amadeus application programming interface (API), Paytm users will now have the capability to explore and access global flight options. This integration empowers users to seamlessly discover and book enticing flight deals directly through the Paytm app.
