After an association of 15 years with Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M), Amol Deshpande embarked on a new chapter in his career, assuming the role of Chief Digital Officer & Head of Innovation at RPG Group.
RPG Group boasts a diverse portfolio spanning infrastructure, automotive, IT, pharmaceuticals, energy, and plantations.
In his new role, Amol will be at the helm, steering the organization towards growth while championing digital-driven business transformation.
The RPG Group encompasses several prominent companies, including KEC International, CEAT, Zensar Technologies, RPG Life Sciences, Harrisons Malayalam, Raychem RPG, and Spencer International Hotels.
Taking to social media to reflect on his journey, Amol fondly recounted his time with M&M. His tenure there was characterized by excitement, abundant learning opportunities, and, most significantly, a relentless ‘can-do’ spirit. His accomplishments included spearheading the technology and digital transformation of businesses, catering to a spectrum from startups to large enterprises. He succeeded in delivering world-class ‘Phygital’ experiences for customers, vendors, and employees alike. He also undertook the formidable task of establishing Centers of Excellence from scratch, achieving substantial cost optimizations, and nurturing high-performing teams that transcended geographical boundaries.
Amol’s professional voyage commenced with Tata Motors in 1998. Over the years, he further enriched his experience by working with other automotive giants such as Ford and Daimler Chrysler.
Amol has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Amravati University, followed by a PGDM from Symbiosis Institute of Management Studies. In pursuit of excellence, he pursued an MS in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Utah, rounding out his academic credentials.
