ChromeOS to get Google’s new AI writing tool?

Google is crafting a way to build a writing companion that can understand context, which goes beyond the basics of AI-generated writing: Reports

ChromeOS, the innovative operating system developed by Google, has consistently pushed the boundaries of user experience by introducing a diverse range of features that aim to redefine modern computing. With an unwavering commitment to enhancing productivity and user satisfaction, Google is now rumored to be diligently crafting an advanced AI-powered writing tool that will seamlessly integrate with the ChromeOS ecosystem.

In the midst of this highly anticipated launch, a veil of secrecy has been lifted. It has been revealed that there are at least five codenames associated with this project. Among these, three have been the most popular – “Orca”, “Marco” and “Manto”.

So, here’s how this works:

As per reports, during the process of editing a text, the codename “Orca” is set to take center stage in Chrome’s right-click menu. Once you opt for “Orca,” an intriguing sequence is set into motion which seamlessly transitions to “Mako”. Breaking down its functionality, “Mako” navigates its tasks briefly into three codes: The initial phase is dedicated to requesting rewrites, where the AI engine within “Mako” generates an AI-written version of the text input. This first step forms the foundation upon which further codes operate.

The next task of “Mako’s” operation involves offering examples of how to ask for a certain style, followed by inserting this text in the place you were originally typing. “Manta” on the other hand, enables a free flow of information by sending the text inputs to Google’s servers, which send the text back to you in an enhanced and rewritten format, incorporating AI in this task.

Similar to Apple’s continuity feature, this tool will allow Android users to link their various Android devices to each other. By harnessing the profound tools of artificial intelligence (AI), this cross-platform approach of Google is crafting a way to build a writing companion that can understand context, which goes beyond the basics of AI-generated writing.
