Ram Mandir consecration boosts connectivity: Airtel, Vodafone, Idea upgrade telecom network in Ayodhya

With Vi's network enhancements and Airtel's infrastructure upgrades, seamless connectivity ensured for dignitaries and devotees during historic event

As the city of Ayodhya prepares for the momentous consecration of the Ram Mandir, major telecom operators Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea have joined forces to upgrade their network infrastructure, ensuring seamless connectivity for the thousands of dignitaries and visitors expected to attend the event.

In a collaborative effort with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT), the government, and local authorities, Vi has taken significant steps to bolster its network in Ayodhya. The telecom giant has upgraded existing sites across the city, covering key areas to provide enhanced connectivity.

The Department of Telecommunications, in tandem with other relevant departments, facilitated approvals for the installation of towers, ensuring swift execution of the project. Vi’s improvements include enhanced network coverage, increased capacity, and improved backhaul connectivity across all spectrum bands.

Vi’s efforts also encompass the addition of new sites and the upgrading/refarming of L2100 spectrum capacity at strategic locations, such as the Ayodhya Railway Station, Ram Mandir Campus, the Airport, and connecting highways to Lucknow and Varanasi. Users can anticipate improved connectivity for high-speed data transfer, clear voice calls, and seamless video streaming during the event.

Airtel, another major player in the telecom industry, has focused on upgrading its network infrastructure in crucial locations throughout Ayodhya. This includes the airport, railway station, bus stands, landmarks, hotels, and other significant venues. Airtel has deployed additional network sites and Cells on Wheels (CoWs) in key locations, ensuring comprehensive coverage.

Airtel’s efforts also extend to installing optic fiber cables throughout the city, prioritising seamless data connectivity at key areas like the main event site, locker rooms, and Rajawar Park. The company has taken additional measures by installing sites and Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) to cover the Ram Mandir and its surroundings.

To cope with the anticipated surge in visitors, both Vi and Airtel have deployed additional manpower, including network engineers, to guarantee uninterrupted service during the historic occasion.
