Interestingly, students from any stream in Class 12, whether it’s biology, commerce, or arts, can pursue opportunities in this field.
The Government of India defines Allied Healthcare Professionals as associates, technicians, or technologists trained to support the diagnosis and treatment of any illness, disease, injury, or impairment. AHPs are considered to be the backbone of India’s Healthcare Infrastructure.
In today’s healthcare landscape, the demand for quality healthcare goes beyond doctors and nurses. AHPs constitute 60% of the healthcare workforce, surpassing the percentages of doctors (15%) and nurses (25%).

Higher Education Landscape in the Healthcare Ecosystem
In the medical line, students typically have to go through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Undergraduate (NEET-UG) exam. It is perceived that without the NEET exam, a student can’t build a career in healthcare. Virohan, with its most in-demand courses, paves the way for students to be in their dream profession.
In 2024, the Virohan team estimates that over 25 lakh students are expected to take the NEET-UG exam, yet there are only around 50,000 government MBBS seats and 1.18 lakh total B.Sc. Degree Courses offered by Virohan
Virohan enables the provision of UGC-approved Bachelor’s degrees for Medical Laboratory Technology, Operating Theatre Technician and Anesthesia, Hospital Administration, and Optometry courses, with a plan to add more disciplines in the near future. The institute ensures daily English language training and personality development classes for students to gain enough confidence for them to be ready to work in real-life environments.
B Voc course offers an 18-month classroom-based theory program with an 18-month internship as a part of the course itself, ensuring that students are job-ready within 36 months of enrolment. The institute has a proprietary app ecosystem that students & trainers can log in to, access all study material, practice tests, and have their doubts addressed. The Road Ahead: Expansion, 4-Year Degree & International Placements
Virohan has recently launched a 4-year Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Delhi NCR, which has a built-in 24-month internship period, and eligibility for international placements. The institute is looking to expand into more territories with the new 4-year BSc degree, which offers better industry readiness to students and a shot at pursuing a PhD without a master’s degree.
To expand its footprint, the brand partners with universities & colleges in India, to use their existing infrastructure and plug-in operational prowess including an educator network & app-enabled coursework. The hard work is undertaken by Virohan, while partner colleges & universities provide physical space & minimal operational support to enable high-quality healthcare education while generating a higher return on their classroom infrastructure.
Virohan has collaborated with 15+ partner institutions across various cities in India, spanning North India including Delhi, Faridabad, Gurugram, Lucknow, Roorkee, and Varanasi, as well as Central India with campuses in Mumbai, Nagpur, and Bengaluru.
The next phase of expansion will see Virohan establishing new campuses in South India in the near future. This strategic move aims to deepen relationships with stakeholders and to train over 10,000 students within the next 18 months
