The pink themed toy-based movie is set to be digitally released tomorrow, i.e., 5th September - reports

According to recent reports, Greta Gerwig’s highly anticipated film, Barbie, has taken the global box office by storm, raking in an astonishing $1.36 billion in revenue. This has put Barbie in the top spot, surpassing the previous record holder, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which had amassed $1.35 billion in earnings. The journey to this record-breaking success began right when ‘Barbie’ marked the best debut of the year in July with its opening of $162 million.

Barbie has not just made a significant impact on the box office, it has also rewritten the record books in several ways since its release. Adding to its list of achievements, the blockbuster, Barbie, has become the highest-grossing movie of the year. The movie’s striking success is supposedly evident from its remarkable four-week streak as the No. 1 film after hitting the theaters, a feat rarely achieved in the world of cinema.

One of the most noteworthy accomplishments of Barbie is that it has earned the distinction of being the highest-grossing movie ever directed by a woman. The movie has outperformed Warner Bros.’ iconic film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. This has taken Barbie to the ranks of the 14th biggest domestic release and the 15th biggest global release in the history of cinema, as per reports. Its pink-themed charm has resonated with audiences on a global scale, surpassing stereotypical boundaries, among others.

In every sense, Barbie has left an undeniable mark on the world of cinema. Its ability to not only captivate audiences but also defy expectations has elevated it to the status that it has achieved today. The movie was released on 21st July and has been in the theatres since. According to Variety, the movie is set to be digitally released via ‘video-on-demand’ tomorrow, i.e., 5th September.
