PM Narendra Modi green lights infrastructure projects worth ₹57,050 crore in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated significant infrastructure projects across various sectors, during his recent visit to Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

The Prime Minister inaugurated projects worth ₹57,050 crore, as per recent reports. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent visit to Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh marked the inauguration of significant infrastructure projects across various sectors, including petrochemicals, industrial parks, rail, critical care blocks, and healthcare initiatives. These projects will have a positive impact on economic development, energy generation, and public healthcare in the region.

PM to lay the foundation stone of projects worth more than Rs. 50,700 crore in Madhya Pradesh alone, according to PIB. In Madhya Pradesh, the foundation for a new petrochemical complex at the Bina refinery run by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited was laid by PM Modi. This refinery, costing ₹49,000 crores, will produce 1200 KTPA of ethylene and propylene, essential components for industries such as textiles and pharmaceuticals.

Additionally, the PM inaugurated 10 industrial projects across the state, including power and renewable energy manufacturing zones, IT parks, and a major industrial park. 

In Chattisgarh, PM Modi has given the green light for railway projects worth approximately Rs 6,350 crore in Raigarh. According to reports by PIB, these projects include Chhattisgarh East Rail Project Phase-I, 3rd rail line between Champa to Jamga, 3rd rail line between Pendra Road to Anuppur, and the MGR (Merry-Go-Round) system connecting Talaipalli Coal Mine to NTPC Lara Super Thermal Power Station (STPS).

These rail projects will provide impetus to socioeconomic development by facilitating the movement of passengers as well as freight traffic in the region. The Chhattisgarh East Rail Project Phase-I is part of the PM GatiShakti initiative, aimed at enhancing multi-modal connectivity as reported by PIB.

Furthermore, he will also lay the foundation stone for Critical Care Blocks in nine different districts of Chattisgarh under the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM). The aim is to address the health issues caused by sickle cell disease, especially among tribal populations. The Prime Minister will also distribute one lakh sickle cell counselling cards to the screened population according to PIB’s report.
