NSRCEL announces strategic collaboration with Deloitte to empower start-ups

NSRCEL and Deloitte India will co-create online modules covering vital topics for early-stage businesses

NSRCEL, the incubation hub of the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB), has announced a strategic partnership with Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India, LLP (“Deloitte India”). The collaboration seeks to provide NSRCEL with the essential expertise and competencies to navigate the intricate landscape of entrepreneurship.

Under the collaboration, NSRCEL and Deloitte India will co-create online modules covering vital topics for early-stage businesses. These modules will delve into corporate governance, taxation, entity formation, funding stages and instruments, mergers and acquisitions, and company structure.

Anand Sri Ganesh, CEO, NSRCEL, said, “Governance and compliance are critical requirements for start-ups to scale sustainably. We are delighted to announce this collaboration. Through this impactful collaboration, founders will gain a roadmap to building the governance foundations of their ventures.”

Having a solid foundation in corporate governance is essential for transparency, responsibility, and establishing trust with investors. Understanding tax laws will enable start-ups to optimise their costs and ensure compliance with regulations, avoiding potential pitfalls in the future. Selecting the right legal structure from the outset sets the stage for future growth and funding prospects. The modules will address various forms of funding and financing available to start-ups, equipping them with valuable financial skills. Furthermore, learning about mergers and acquisitions will prepare start-ups for potential partnerships or exits. The modules will also focus on the importance of optimising organisational structure, facilitating efficient scaling processes, and contributing to growth.

Deloitte India’s engagement will be multifaceted. It will actively involve industry experts as guest speakers for the online sessions, offering invaluable guidance to NSRCEL’s ventures. Close collaboration with NSRCEL will ensure the development of high-quality learning modules tailored to the specific needs of early-stage start-ups. Live online sessions will provide real-time interaction and engagement, with recorded sessions available for future reference.

Mahesh Jaising, Partner, Deloitte India, said, “Deloitte India is excited about the strategic collaboration with NSRCEL. “India’s entrepreneurial spirit is a wellspring of innovation. These young minds hold the key to India’s future. Through this collaboration, we’ll equip them with the knowledge and tools to navigate the complexities of governance, taxation, and legal structures. It would help the founders with tax-focused inputs that supplement the learning’s value additions at the programmes. We look forward to its success and a long-term association to help support entrepreneurs in their journey with tax and regulatory aspects.”
