Cloudflare unveils Magic Cloud Networking

Cloudflare's new product is fueled by recent acquisition of Nefeli’s multicloud connectivity technology

Cloudflare has unveiled its latest innovation, Magic Cloud Networking. This solution offers businesses to connect and safeguard their public cloud environments.

This launch marks Cloudflare’s strategic move into the multicloud networking (MCN) sphere, made possible through the acquisition of Nefeli Networks’ cutting-edge technology.

Nefeli Networks, a startup specializing in MCN solutions, has been acquired by Cloudflare to bolster its offerings. This acquisition aligns with Cloudflare’s vision to streamline IT and DevOps operations by providing a unified network management layer for cloud infrastructure deployments.

Magic Cloud Networking integrates Nefeli’s technology with Cloudflare’s connectivity cloud, delivering a unified platform that empowers businesses to seamlessly discover, connect, and protect any private or public cloud environment. By automating and simplifying the networking process, Magic Cloud Networking eliminates the complexities associated with managing multiple cloud providers.

Matthew Prince, CEO and co-founder of Cloudflare, emphasizes the significance of this development, stating, “We believe the full potential of the cloud will only truly be unlocked when customers can easily mix and match the best features of each public cloud provider.”

The partnership between Nefeli and Cloudflare began during the Workers Launchpad program, where both teams collaborated to explore scalable solutions for customers. Cloudflare’s acquisition of Nefeli’s team and technology accelerates the development of Magic Cloud Networking, which will be integrated into Cloudflare One, the company’s comprehensive Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) platform.

Eugenia Corrales, CEO of Nefeli, expresses enthusiasm about the integration, highlighting the benefits for businesses: “By seamlessly integrating Nefeli’s multicloud networking capabilities into Cloudflare’s robust platform, businesses will now be able to easily connect and manage their cloud infrastructure with security and performance built in at scale.”

Dr. Scott Shenker, Co-founder and Chairman of Nefeli, echoes this sentiment, stating, “That’s why I’m thrilled to see this next chapter for Nefeli’s talented team – bringing simplicity and scalability together to revolutionize multicloud networking.”

Magic Cloud Networking leverages Cloudflare’s extensive global network, spanning over 310 cities in over 120 countries, to provide customers with unparalleled connectivity and security. With this launch, Cloudflare solidifies its position as the go-to solution for businesses seeking to transform their network architecture.

In a rapidly evolving digital landscape, Cloudflare’s Magic Cloud Networking sets a new standard for multicloud connectivity, empowering businesses to harness the full potential of the cloud while simplifying operations and enhancing security.
