In some adaptations, Maya Sita or Chaya Sita was the illusionary duplicate of the goddess Sita, who was consort of Rama. Instead of capturing the real Sita, Ravana abducted the illusionary duplicate and imprisoned her in Lanka, until she was rescued by Rama. Created by the fire god during Agni Parisksha, Chaya Sita suffered the captivity, while the real Sita went hiding in the fire.

Ravana could not even touch her and was misguided with a Robot. Today, technologies such as Data, AI and virtual reality have become the power that mythological figures already had. These advancements will continue to contribute to changing the world.

Nowadays, humans are trying to explore ways in which the mind can be uploaded to computers to become digitally immortal. Not limiting to this only, we have Microsoft patenting the human reincarnation software and Google going for digital cloning. At the same time, social networks prioritize content a user would be interested in seeing.

The times are also not far when our grandchildren may say, “Hey Google, let me talk to my departed grandma!” or “Alexa, please select a dress which my departed dad would have liked?” or HR of an organization may ask, “Cortana, please replicate Employee Code No X1234Y, as we are not getting a suitable candidate.”
