The world’s most punctual airports and airlines in 2022

When it comes to the most punctual airport in the world, Tokyo’s Haneda Airport in Japan takes the crown. As per reports, in 2022, 10,000 flights took off from the airport, with 9033 being on time. 373,254 flights operated from the Japanese airport, of which 90.33 percent of flights took off at the scheduled time. Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport ranks second in the list with 84.08 percent of flights departing on time.

A total of 201,897 flights were able to adhere to the designated take-off times from the Indian airport in 2022. The 3rd place goes to Salt Lake International City Airport in Utah, United States, as 226,545 airplanes left the runway on time last year.

Three other American airports followed viz. Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, Philadelphia International Airport, and St. Paul International Airport in Missouri, occupying the 4th, 5th, and 6th place respectively. Regarding the most punctual Airline in the world, 1st place goes to South America’s Azul Brazilian Airlines, which had 88.93 percent of flights taking off on time in 2022, followed by Japan’s All Nippon Airlines, which is the runner-up with a punctuality record of 88.61 percent, according to sources.
