Terra Charge and GrEL Cabs collaborate to enhance EV infrastructure in Pune

Partnership aims to support EV adoption and sustainable mobility goals

Terra Charge, an EV charging infrastructure development company, has announced a strategic partnership with Pune-based all-electric ride-hailing service GrEL Cabs to establish a Park and Charge Facility in Hinjewadi, Pune. This collaboration will see the installation of 11 advanced EV chargers at the designated hub, catering to the fast-charging needs of GrEL Cabs’ electric fleet.

The initiative aims to seamlessly integrate Japanese technology into GrEL Cabs’ electric vehicle models, thereby reducing downtime and promoting a reliable charging experience for riders. By aligning with India’s EV30@30 goal, which targets a 30% sales share for electric vehicles by 2030, Terra Charge seeks to contribute to the country’s transition towards sustainable transportation.

Through leveraging their respective market expertise and networking capabilities, Terra Charge and GrEL Cabs intend to expand their presence in India’s electric vehicle domain. Terra Charge is working towards its target of installing 1000 charge points by 2024, with an annual revenue projection of USD 668,000. The collaboration underscores their commitment to accelerating EV adoption by strategically placing charging infrastructure for fleet services.

Akihiro Ueda, CEO of Terra Charge, highlighted the significance of the collaboration in advancing sustainable mobility in India. He emphasized the shared goal of creating accessible EV charging infrastructure to support the nation’s EV initiative, expressing confidence in overcoming e-mobility challenges through continued collaboration with GrEL Cabs.

Sarthak Bansal, CEO of GrEL Cabs, emphasized the partnership’s role in providing customers with a reliable and sustainable mobility solution. By equipping their green cab service with Terra Charge’s charging solutions, GrEL Cabs aims to encourage wider EV adoption among cab riders and passengers.

This collaboration builds upon Terra Charge and GrEL Cabs’ previous partnership near Pune airport, demonstrating their commitment to expanding EV infrastructure in Pune and exploring opportunities for geographical expansion in India’s rapidly growing EV market.
