Impact of Covid-19 crisis on Health Industry

ET-Insights: What kind of impact do you see of this kind of Pandemic on health industry?

Om P Manchanda: There is going to be an adverse short-term impact on healthcare industry, but I do believe that this sector will be quick to recover.

ET-Insights: As a health industry expert, what do you think can be done to ensure best services and solutions to all?

Om P Manchanda: In these unprecedented times, it is extremely critical to support healthcare workers. They are risking their lives to save all of us. They all need a word of encouragement; rest I am sure they will take care to the best of their ability.

ET-Insights: What is your take on the government’s response so far? What would be your request to government to do more?

Om P Manchanda: I am sure Government has a macro view and accordingly they are making all the decisions. I think, in these trying times, informal sector and MSME have come under a lot of pressure, and this has direct linkage to large employment base. An enhanced focus in this area will certainly help.
