Empowering leadership for a dynamic world

Professor Sameer Hasija, INSEAD Singapore relays the problem of too many unknowns that companies face 24 hours a day, seven days a week and explains why the demand for academic collaboration has increased

Since 2019, the role of CEOs has continued to evolve as businesses have had to adapt to rapidly changing market conditions, technological advancements, and societal shifts. Even today, the pandemic continues to have a significant impact on the business world, with many companies having to navigate ongoing disruptions to supply chains, labor shortages, and changing consumer behavior.

In response to these challenges, CEOs have become more agile, innovative, and customer-centric than ever before. They have also had to demonstrate strong leadership skills, with a particular focus on empathy, communication, and inclusivity.

Overall, while the core responsibilities of CEOs may have remained largely the same between 2019 and 2023, the expectations placed on them have continued to evolve and expand, requiring a more well-rounded set of skills and qualities to succeed in the role.

In a recent conversation, Prof Sameer Hasija, Dean of Executive Education, INSEAD Singapore shared that businesses find themselves dealing with too many unknowns 24/7, the reason why the demand for academic collaboration has increased.
