Sanjay Chakraborty takes helm as Chief Digital Officer for Dharavi Redevelopment Project

The appointment marks a key milestone in Dharavi Redevelopment Project's digital initiative.

Sanjay Chakraborty has been appointed as the Chief Digital Officer for the Dharavi Redevelopment Project, signifying a pivotal advancement in the project’s digital strategy.

With a robust background as the former Head of Technology at Adani Enterprises Limited, Sanjay brings a wealth of experience in digital transformation to his new role.

His extensive tenure at Cairn Oil and Gas, where he served as the Digital Leader for Subsurface and Field Development, further strengthens his digital leadership capabilities.

Sanjay has been a digital transformation expert, excelling in devising and executing digital solutions such as software product development, AI/ML integration, analytics, IT infrastructure management, and geospatial analysis.

The Dharavi Redevelopment Project Pvt Ltd (DRPPL), a collaboration between the Government of Maharashtra and the Adani Group, is gearing up for a crucial phase. The project aims to conduct a comprehensive survey to gather data on the informal residents of Dharavi.

This data collection initiative is crucial as it will enable the state government to establish eligibility criteria for the rehabilitation of Dharavi’s residents as part of the proposed redevelopment project.

The project recently achieved a significant milestone with the acquisition of 27.6 acres of land from the Railway Land Development Authority (RLDA) out of the total 45 acres earmarked for redevelopment.

The project is drawing inspiration from international best practices, particularly those observed in Singapore, to ensure the successful and sustainable rehabilitation of Dharavi’s residents.

Sanjay has completed M.Sc. Tech in Applied Geophysics from IIT (ISM), Dhanbad and subsequently went through various leadership and management training at IIMA and ISB.
