A survey of 500+ IT leaders suggested that VPNs, collaboration suites, end-point encryption, and cloud tools will witness an uptake, and industries like media, education, and IT/ITeS are likely to see an increased uptick in usage of digital, cloud-based tools because of online entertainment, virtual classrooms, and increased need for collaboration as a result of increased remote working.

These industry leaders suggested the onset of the Coronavirus pandemic has contributed to a speeding up of the pace of cloud adoption, as enterprises embrace remote working, and 64% agreed that cloud technology will gain importance over Data Security and Disaster Recovery Services.

The pandemic has put the world economy into remote working mode almost overnight, and it now seems that this new normal is here to stay. The adoption of cloud computing solutions has, however, ensured that businesses live to fight another day, and businesses will thus need to focus first on security and business continuity with flexible, scalable architecture becoming imperative to operate effectively in a post-pandemic world.
