Cloud Computing in the wake of Metaverse

The Metaverse is a realm in which cloud computing may be greatly augmented...

Technology is advancing at breakneck speed. Smartphones, cloud computing, AI, machine learning, and blockchain are just a few of the breakthrough technological concepts that have previously captured the interest of the IT industry. The phrase “metaverse” is one such recent buzzword that has piqued the interest of the global tech sector to the point that it has become a major goal for several global digital behemoths.

Metaverse is a virtual shared space formed by the merging of real and virtual worlds. It can be defined as any program, service, or platform that allows you to connect with other humans or digital entities in a virtual environment.

The buzz around Metaverse

According to Gartner, 25% of internet users will spend at least an hour every day on Metaverse for shopping, work, entertainment and social media. It is supported by an independent virtual economy enabled by non-fungible tokens (NFTs) and digital currencies. Metaverse is a converging point where multiple immersive technologies like Augmented reality, head-mounted display AR, IoT, 5G, spatial technology and AI, combine to deliver the ultimate user experience.

More computational power will be required in the Metaverse

Metaverse is only getting started, and it will require a vast infrastructure to remodel and progress the technology, which will include more processing power, 3D images, VR technology, Internet connectivity, and other features. While Facebook has been a key pushing force, other big businesses that are working on Metaverse include Nvidia, Microsoft, Unity Software, Autodesk, Adobe, and Tencent.

Metaverse still has cloud computing in its essence

Cloud computing has progressed into breakthroughs and revolutions influencing the whole ICT sector in the last fifteen years, from being questioned to becoming a new generation of IT standards. Although still in its infancy, according to analysts, cloud spending accounts for only 5% to 15% of overall IT investment now. An enormous number of workloads will be shifted to the cloud in the future, and a number of innovations are bound to take place there. And with Metaverse the cloud industry, is expected to unfurl its true potential as more and more businesses migrate to the virtual world.

Cloud computing is essential to the metaverse

Meta supplements its existing local infrastructure with cloud technology’s stable infrastructure and comprehensive functionalities and will employ additional cloud technology’s computing, storage, database, and security services to improve privacy, security, dependability, and scalability.

AR Cloud

AR cloud is an emerging 3D map of the world that is overlaid onto the real world. AR cloud will augment the experience and information tied, augmented, and shared to a physical location. Companies soon will use this tech to create their versions of service channels to leverage the possibilities created by Metaverse.

 Leveraging Cloud technology

Meta will leverage cloud services to support the firms it has purchased and will host third-party cooperative apps on the cloud. It will also employ Cloud computing services to speed up the research and development of the Meta AI department’s artificial intelligence project. Meta will also collaborate with clients to increase the performance of cloud-based deep learning computing platforms and to assist developers to speed up the creation, training, deployment, and operation of AI and machine learning models.

This is an area where cloud computing may play a significant role. The Metaverse is a realm in which cloud computing may be greatly augmented. The Metaverse requires computation, storage, machine learning, and other services that are inextricably linked to cloud computing.

Meta-universe combines a variety of well-known technologies, with cloud computing serving as the backbone. Whether it’s modelling in the digital world or interacting with it, machine learning is inextricably linked. At the same time, the meta-environment universe would unavoidably create a massive quantity of data, and these data are inextricably linked to the underlying platform, which must be the cloud.”

A new way to connect

Thanks to the Metaverse, content creators will be able to connect to their audience in new ways. Metaverse has opened new gates for content to be created, shared and monetized and generate revenue. NFTs, digital merchandise and digital currencies are all part of this big picture.

NFTs and Cryptocurrency play a crucial role in Metaverse

Cryptocurrencies and NFTs will play a very crucial role in Metaverse’s content creation enterprise. In the virtual world of Metaverse, virtual currencies will be the most common way of conducting transactions. Many organizations have already taken such a leap. One of the virtual reality platforms, Ceek VR allows its users to make payments via their VR headsets.

NFTs will also give much-needed transparency in this new chapter of internet-based services. They will allow the tracking of rare and valuable digital assets including Avatar T-shirts to digital homes and apartments. These NFTs and cryptocurrencies will enable seamless functionalities in the Metaverse.

Metaverse is closely based on the real world and how it functions. But of course, in the early phase of transformation, there are some limitations in terms of what can be done. Several fashion labels have already started to leverage their design abilities with early success and great returns. However, every business doesn’t have the prowess and capabilities of creating and deploying NFTs like these fashion magnets. Hence, many resources are emerging already that will cater to the needs of these budding players.

There is no denying that augmented and virtual reality has massive applications in the future, but Metaverse is taking those concepts to a whole new level. But it’s important to remember that data lies at the bottom of everything Metaverse is set to do. As an increased number of people and businesses participate and leverage this virtual universe, more data, processing and computing will take place. In a way, cloud computing has only started, and with the rise of Meta, we will witness the true potential of cloud computing taking over.
