The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 sponsorship and other deals are expected to bring in a total of Rs 800 crore (INR 8 billion) for the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The new season of the IPL will begin on March 26 with TATA as the league’s new principal sponsor.This year’s IPL sponsorship revenue is expected to reach just over Rs 800 crore, a new high for the BCCI since the competition began in 2008. The revenue has increased this year due to an increase in the number of sponsors for the IPL, and TATA has already paid a significant sum for title sponsorship.In addition to Tata, BCCI has secured deals with RuPay and Swiggy Instamart as new IPL central sponsors. The board has agreed to a Rs 42 crore (INR 420 million) per annum deal with RuPay and a Rs 44 crore (INR 440 million) per annum deal with Swiggy Instamart.

Following that, in terms of broadcasting rights, Star India acquired the Indian Premier League rights on September 4, 2017, for a tenure of 5 years, with the season beginning in 2018 ending in 2022. The Indian entertainment arm won the global media rights to the IPL in an all-out bid that will cost media mogul Rupert Murdoch Rs 16,347.50 crore ($2.55 billion) over five years, outbidding a dozen other tech and media giant. They didn’t want to win just one half because they owned both Hotstar and Star Sports, so their bidding approach was straightforward, and as a result, Disney+Hotstar has the OTT rights for IPL 2022.

 

In addition, the following IPL telecast rights for the second cycle were obtained: The bids were submitted to India’s Board of Control for Cricket, which will award the rights for five years beginning in 2023. A winner will be chosen near the end of March or the beginning of April. While for IPL 2022, Star Sports is predicted to earn around 4000 crores through ad revenue from the numerous advertisers shown in the infographic.The IPL auction for 2022 was held successfully in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13. The mega auction featured ten teams, including the two new franchises Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans. During the IPL 2022 auction, the 10 teams purchased a total of 204 players. There were 67 players from outside the country and 137 from India. Mumbai Indians acquired back Ishan Kishan for Rs. 15.25 crores, making him the most expensive player in the auction.
