How technology is changing the learning landscape in education system

Culture and way of life act as a binding force, driving technology to impact the education sector

It isn’t a matter of surprise that we live in the 21st century and observe technology’s influence in practically every aspect of our daily lives. Education is not far from acknowledging this fact either.

Over the past two decades, we have seen how technology has advanced and changed the educational landscape. With the development of technology, we have seen people go to school online, take exams on their computers from far away, and even take classes at foreign universities without leaving their homes.

Technology is being used in educational institutions for teaching, learning, and administrative purposes. For effective teaching and learning environments, the education ecosystem is increasingly reliant on cutting-edge technology. To assist students and achieve better learning outcomes, teachers are mastering new technology. Almost all questions can now be answered thanks to advances in technology. In the past, we needed to consult printed books so as to obtain knowledge, they were the prime source. Moreover, a few fortunate people had access to them. However, today, the information is now easily accessible to everyone due to technological advancements.

There is currently a tonne of information, readily available in the form of e-books, movies, photos, etc. Additionally, the students access reading materials, announcements, reminders, assignments, assessments, and communication using iPads at their workstations and digital applications. The government is taking a significant lead in creating regulations that will aid schools in providing quality online education. According to a survey, the majority of educators predict that self-paced and individualised learning will take centre stage in future classrooms.

Schools all across the world are working to convert their classrooms to AI-based education, which will allow for more accessibility, lifelong learning, and alternatives for a variety of employment opportunities. According to another survey, 86 percent of educators believe that students need video capture abilities in order to excel in their future occupations. Video aids in boosting student satisfaction by 92%, achievement by 82%, collaboration among educators by 80%, and professional growth by 80%.

Every educational endeavour places the greatest emphasis on accessibility for quick and efficient learning. Learning is not restricted to the classroom’s four walls. The spread of education across the globe has been aided by technology. Every school in the nation is urging instructors and students to embrace new learning opportunities and make the most of technology. With the aid of technology, all the resources essential for learning will be readily available. It offers a variety of solutions that support enhancing academic results.

Through video streaming, experts from all over the world give lectures to students seated in a classroom. They do not have to commute to distant places, in order to attend lectures and gain abundant knowledge. It is widely noted that not every student has the same level of aptitude for studying. Some kids may require time to learn, while others may not. For each kid to learn effectively, it is crucial to devote attention to them individually. For example, some children may grasp concepts more virtually than others. As a result, every child has a unique learning style. Unlike popular belief, there were no such options for learning styles in the past. But new technology is changing the way schools work by letting students get instructions that are just right for them.

Different learning styles, such as visual, aural, tactile, and social ones, can support students in developing their learning according to their aptitudes. Teachers can then use these learning preferences to give each student individual instruction. Nowadays, there are various online resources accessible for teaching and learning. It used to be challenging to find information on certain material, because none of them could be used by the general population. However, evolving technology has changed how knowledge can be accessed for an efficient learning process.

The internet platform offers a wealth of information. Various tools, such as content management systems, podcasts, etc., are used in educational institutions to aid in effective learning and teaching for both students and teachers. Thus, it is evident that technology is ever evolving, thereby changing the learning landscape in the education system. This not only fosters the personality of the modern generation, but also provides them with a space to mould themselves, while making the best use of the assets that surround them.
