ET GBS 2023: Top government officials to address the event

Key ministers and government officials from India are scheduled to speak at the ET GBS 2023 – a two-day event on the 17th and 18th of February. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been designated as the chief guest for the event. Three Union Ministers are also included in the stellar line-up viz Piyush Goyal, Ashwini Vaishnaw, and Rajiv Chandrasekhar. Current India’s G20 Sherpa, Amitabh Kant, is set to pique the interest of the audience by speaking at the event.

Piyush Goyal, Minister for Commerce and Industry, Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution, and Textiles, is handling the nation’s critical free trade negotiations with countries like Australia, UK, and USA. As a politician, he has held numerous critical positions in the BJP including the National Treasurer.

The Minister of Railways, Communications, and Electronics and IT, Ashwini Vaishnaw, is spearheading the transformation of India’s telecom industry, improving the country’s electronics and semiconductor manufacturing, and facilitating a high-quality railway infrastructure. He possesses a wealth of experience in leadership positions in infrastructure development.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Union Minister of State for Electronics and IT, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, is involved in the shaping of the country’s laws, and administering important areas such as privacy, data protection, skilling, and the forthcoming Digital India Act. He is a politician, technocrat, and entrepreneur serving his third term as a Member of Parliament in the upper house (Rajya Sabha).

Another important key official, Amitabh Kant, is a governance reformer and a public policy change agent for India, having steered important reforms and initiatives as the CEO of the NITI Aayog from 2016 to 2022 and Secretary of the Department for Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP) from 2014 to 2016. He has spearheaded transformational initiatives like Startup India, Make in India, Incredible India, Kerala: God’s Own Country, and the Aspirational Districts Program.

Aam Aadmi Party’s Raghav Chadha, who is a National Executive and Spokesperson of the party and a Member of Parliament of Rajya Sabha, is one of the attendees who’ll share his thoughts on stage. Chadha has been with AAP since its inception in 2012 and, since then, has been an essential member of the party.
