ChatGPT parent OpenAI to launch marketplace for AI apps

OpenAI, the organization behind ChatGPT, plans to introduce a marketplace where developers can sell their AI models created using OpenAI's technology, targeting businesses that utilize ChatGPT for specific use cases.

According to reports, the organisation that created the well-known platform ChatGPT plans to introduce a marketplace. The primary audience for this OpenAI platform will be businesses. According to a report by The Information, this marketplace would allow developers to sell the AI models they created using OpenAI’s AI technology.

The enterprise market intends to serve clients who frequently adapt OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology for particular use cases like fraud detection or market research. Through the suggested marketplace for OpenAI, other companies might be able to access the models developed by these developers.

According to the report, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman discussed the prospective plans for the market with developers when they were in London. If developed, this market may compete with already-running app shops run by OpenAI’s clients and tech partners, such as Salesforce and Microsoft. It might also assist OpenAI in growing its clientele and opening its technologies to a larger market.

The Information, which covered these developments, also noted that two OpenAI clients, Aquant (a manufacturer of software) and Khan Academy (a developer of educational apps), would be interested in putting their ChatGPT-powered AI models up for sale on OpenAI’s marketplace.

Since its release in late 2022, ChatGPT has seen a considerable increase in the number of enterprises using it to automate processes and boost operational effectiveness. Offering clients new solutions based on AI software has become a competitive market as businesses compete to take advantage of the capabilities of advanced large language models (LLMs).
