Future of work: Innovations in endpoint management to empower hybrid workforce

How to empower a hybrid workforce? HP India’s Head of Services and Solutions, Ritesh Gandotra, gives his thoughts

Please share some of the key innovations in endpoint management within your firm?

With nearly half of workers having at least some flexibility in where they work in 2023, it is critical for IT to enable employees to work seamlessly and securely from anywhere while streamlining IT workflows and simplifying IT sourcing.

HP has recently unveiled new IT tools to ease out device management and provide flexible outcome-driven managed workforce solutions

· Using HP Adaptive Endpoint Management (AEM) as a Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) transformation service for hybrid work, we can create the modern workplace by offering a Managed Device Service that can scale up to hundreds of thousands of devices. It is offered as a monthly subscription, with the ability to scale the number of devices up or down to help manage costs too.

· Using another HP tool called HP Proactive Insights, we can raise the bar for employee technology experience, from monitoring and optimizing the performance of the fleet to tracking, measuring, and improving the overall User PC experience.

How is your business helping to secure and lay the groundwork for the future of device management?

With HP Adaptive Endpoint Management (AEM), we can help customers move from Traditional manual device management to Modern device management.

From providing “Ready to use” devices with the organization’s policies, applications, and settings on “Day One”, to ongoing Fleet Management of these end-point devices. With built-in HP Wolf Security at a device level, HP can offer “grounds up” security and Cyber resilience to customers in an on-site as well as hybrid workforce environment.

Do you think that more organization adopting device as a service model is lowering the operational costs?

Most of the large organizations are already adopting device as a service (DaaS) model to move from Capex to Opex – while this may not necessarily lower the operational cost in the short term. However, if bundled with proper services, solutions and analytics, customers can reduce the burden on IT and hence, optimize its resources. Not to mention the advantage of better ‘Employee Experience’. With more and more customers opting for the DaaS model, service provides like HP can optimize our services and offerings across a wide range of enterprises & SMB customer segments – leading to large savings at the customer side.

How does your business help to enable a hybrid workforce through endpoint innovations?

Hybrid workforce means providing the end point devices directly to users at any location (in the Office or at Home), ongoing support at any location with lesser IT intervention (Office or Home) and managing redeployment and retiring of these assets.

HP has Solutions which can take care of this end-2-end for customers with less intervention from their IT teams. With solutions like HP AEM, we can help deliver device deployment solutions seamlessly across large geographies (on-premises as well in hybrid models). And, to top this, HP can provide HP Proactive Insights to monitor and manage these diverse fleets.

Can you describe the advantages of endpoints solutions offered by HP?

AEM helps reducing the burden on a company’s IT team to deploy large no of devices across vast geographies, without the need for a customized OS image. All corporate settings, applications and security policies can be applied to devices at the OS installation/Configuration stage itself. In addition to that, advantage from solutions like Proactive Insights, comes from the analytics which provides visibility around the Device HW, OS versions and it’s patching.

In addition to this, HP can provide additional security at the device level via its Wolf Security strategy that helps increase Cyber resilience and reduce overall device downtime (increasing user productivity). This not only reduces burden on the IT teams, but also increases user productivity as well as helps measure and enhance Employee Digital Experience.

Could you share your thoughts on how to create a collaborative workplace culture?

In the future, work force will require lots of unified working and communication (Corporate Apps, and collaboration tools like Zoom, Teams, Webex etc.). HP is uniquely positioned to provide this end-2-end experience to our customers via Devices, Collaboration tools and Services as part of a single device as a service proposition.
